This Concept Note evaluates a proposal that promotes electric mobility in a city in Argentina and is framed within the mitigation package “Electromobility and fuel substitution” prioritized in previous stages of the project.
The penetration of electric mobility requires the removal of one of the main barriers to implementation, which consists of easy and quick access to reliable charging facilities so that motorists have the opportunity to have a continuous and clean service for short and medium distance trips. Building electric vehicle charging infrastructure is a priority to increase penetration in the private vehicle market. This Concept Note evaluates the infrastructure needed to achieve light electric vehicle penetration and associated emissions savings.

The objective of this report is to present the methodological approach for the prioritization of mitigation options (those included in Argentina’s NDC and sectoral plans, as well as new ones identified and analyzed throughout this Project) that were grouped into “mitigation packages”. The prioritization methodology considered three dimensions: mitigation potential, transformational capacity as well as feasibility qualifications.
This prioritization was carried out primarily to identify those packages in the Energy and AFOLU sectors on which future climate efforts should be focused in order to develop feasibility analysis, proposals for policy amendments and financial instruments and, finally, a sectoral investment plan.
The main findings of this assessment demonstrate that it is possible to achieve the decarbonization of the economy by 2050 with available greenhouse gas emissions mitigation and capture technologies, for both aforementioned sectors.

The overall objective of this report is to present a compilation and review of policy, economic-financial, legal and institutional, information and education, and productive development measures and instruments options to address existing barriers that may limit low-carbon investment opportunities in Argentina.
The purpose of this document is to define a systematic and standardized approach towards elaborating an inventory of documented mitigation actions in the selected sectors, from public sources (hereby “government-proposed”), included in the NDC, sectoral plans and other policy frameworks serving as a basis to assess the degree of completeness of the definition of the actions, as well as the definition gaps, their execution status.
This Report describes the general conceptual framework for barrier analysis to climate investment as having been developed in the body of literature and as has been discussed within the shared framework of this Project at the regional scale.
