About the regional project
DescarbonizAR is the platform at the National level of the DecarBoost Project
The DecarBOOST project “Enabling conditions for investment in the transition to a low-carbon society in Latin American countries” initiated in March 2020, with a planned duration of 3 years, aims to provide the evidence base for necessary policy reform and contribute to map out the conditions that may result in the rapid decarbonization of the economies of three Latin American countries: Argentina, Brazil and Peru. This objective will be achieved to a large extent by making finance flows consistent with the requirements associated with adopting low-carbon development pathways and building climate resilience.
The DecarBoost project is implemented by partner institutions from five countries: Fundación Torcuato Di Tella (Argentina), Centro Clima/COPPE/UFRJ (Brazil), Libelula Comunicación Ambiente y Desarrollo (Peru), New Climate Institute (Germany), under the coordination of SSN (SouthSouthNorth) from South Africa. This project is sponsored by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
